I’ve spent a lot of time in passenger seats, staring out windows, letting the world move past me. These photos come from those stretches of road — the long drives, the short ones, the ones where I wasn’t really sure where we were going. Often I was with a friend or someone I loved, but always it was a situation where I was comfortable enough to try to hold onto a feeling before it faded. I started taking pictures out the window as a way to catch what couldn’t be kept: light on a windshield, trees bending in the wind, a moment that felt like it meant something — even if I didn’t know what. riding in cars is a collection of those moments. A kind of diary. A way of remembering how it felt to be there, looking out.
