studies for a portrait of dick too is not so much a portrait of dick too as it is a record of how he moves through me. In these blurred frames I see not only my face, but the way time has touched him, the way memory bends and reshapes what I think I know. The camera does not fix him in place — it lets him shift, fade, return again, like the shadow of a shadow that still belongs to its source.
These photographs are an attempt to hold close what is already slipping away, to honor the nearness of a presence that is never still. In them I find the intimacy of recognition, but also the quiet truth that we are always looking at the multiple facets of our personalities through layers of light, distance, and time.
